Point Idol Singing Competition
John Copps will be the MC for the event and will be playing the music to which you are singing. All songs, must be selected from the song list provided by John Copps. He will introduce you and the song you will be performing.
Read the rules and information on this page, then fill out our Point Idol Registration Form.
Prior to filling out the registration form, please go to John Copps' Web site and review the song list. We will only be using the songs as provided by John Copps during the competition.
You are to be present and have checked in with us no later than 12:30 p.m. Anyone that is not checked in by the appointed time will be crossed off the list and will not perform. We highly stress to be on time so the event can run as efficiently as possible. The first 32 registrants get to participate.

We will have approximately 3-5 judges, who are still
to be determined. After half of the contestants have performed, we will take a short 10-minute break. The judges
will then tally up the first half of their scores and hand them in. The second half will then continue until everyone
has performed, then the remaining scores will be tallied and handed in.
Contestants will be judged on the following categories, up a maximum of 50 points:
1) Intonation (15 points)
- Singing in tune
- Sound quality of voice
- Singing in the correct song key
2) Projection (15 points)
- Volume of your sound
- Diction
- Voice carriage
3) Rhythmic Ability (10 points)
- Follow the tempo of the song
- Know the song rhythms
4) Stage Presence (10 points)
- Facial expressions
- Character
- Entertainment Value
One winner will receive a prize of $100 and will get to perform on the Main Stage later that evening. After being announced, the winner must report to the coordinators (whom you checked in with) to give your mailing address and social security number so a check can be mailed to you.
