Resources for Local Entrepreneurs

The City of Stevens Point is eager to work with local entrepreneurs who are already providing key services to residents and to those who are starting new businesses. Partners are training, networking, and invigorating our local business owners by generating additional resources in our community.

Portage County Business Council

• The Portage County Business Council facilitates a social network, leadership training, business recruitment, and membership programs for businesses in the region.

Centergy

• Centergy is Central Wisconsin’s main economic development organization, serving Adams, Lincoln, Marathon, Portage, and Wood Counties. 

UWSP Small Business Development Center

• The UWSP Small Business Development Center provides entrepreneurial training, confidential consultations, and Small Business Administration finance support to small business owners in a 13-county region. They play a foundational role in supporting the stability and growth of our small business network.

CAP Services

• CAP Services provides business coaching and lending services for income-qualifying individuals, and many other programs to support our community.

CREATE Portage County

• CREATE Portage County is a people-centered non-profit. CREATE operates Surge, Central Wisconsin’s business accelerator, innovative community events, and the IDEA Center, a co-working and makerspace that provides cost-effective workspace, equipment, and software.
