Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program
In order to revitalize the downtown, attract new businesses, increase property values, and restore Stevens Point's downtown character, the City has developed a Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program. This program allows owners and/or tenants of existing buildings within the Tax Increment Finance District VI to apply for 40% matching funds of total costs for eligible improvements. Complete the application and deliver it to the City's Community Development Department at 1515 Strongs Avenuenue, Stevens Point, WI 54481. The application period is open until Friday, May 25, 2018.
Thereafter, review and ranking of applications will occur by the City's Historic Preservation Design Review Commission. See the program description for a list of ranking criteria. Selections are anticipated to occur in June 2018 with projects permitted to begin in July 2018. Funds in the program have been allocated for the next two years (2018 & 2019) in the amount of $100,000 per year. If funds remain available after the application period, applications will be accepted and reviewed as received until all funds have been exhausted.
Only complete applications that contain all required information will be considered.
