Funds are still available through the City's Downtown Façade Improvement Grant program to restore and rehabilitate structures within the Downtown area. The City has in excess of $100,000 available for 2019.
- Eligible Area: Properties within the Tax Increment Finance District VI – Downtown District, excluding tax-exempt properties.
- Reimbursement shall be limited to no more than 40% of the total cost of eligible improvements. No single City reimbursement shall exceed thirty thousand dollars ($30,000), unless it is approved by the Common Council.
- Applications will be reviewed upon their receipt by the City’s Historic Preservation Design Review Commission. Applications will be reviewed to ensure compliance with the Stevens Point Historic Design Guidelines and Façade Improvement Grant Program requirements.
The purpose of the Façade Improvement Grant Program is to stimulate building improvements while being mindful of the historical significance and uniqueness of the downtown structures.
