Mike Phillips has resigned as 10th District Alderperson and the City is seeking applicants for the remainder of the term. Individuals interested in the position may fill out a Declaration of Candidacy for Appointment by the Common Council.
The current unexpired term expires April 20, 2020. The position will be up for election on the Spring Election ballot on April 7, and the duly-elected candidate will take office when this appointment expires.
Individuals interested in the position are welcome to provide any additional information, such as a letter of interest, resume, references or other materials they believe will assist the Council in the selection process. The Declaration of Candidacy can be picked up at the City Clerk’s office or downloaded from the State of Wisconsin Elections Commission website and turned into the Clerk’s office during normal business hours.
All information presented to the City Clerk’s office on or before December 6, 2019 will be distributed to Council Members prior to the December Council meeting on December 16, 2019 at 7:00PM in the Common Council chambers in the County City Building. Candidates will be given 5 minutes to make a presentation, and current council members will be allowed to ask questions of candidates after their presentations.
After the presentations and the question and answer period, the Council will vote on the replacement for the Tenth District Alderperson that evening.
