Uncovering the Solid Waste Story - Learn How to Reduce Waste

Local experts in the field of Solid Waste Management, including Portage County Solid Waste Director, Amanda Haffele, participated in the production of an episode of "Into the Outdoors" called, "Becoming Stewards - Uncovering the Solid Waste Story."

The "Solid Waste Story" edition of the award-winning educational series "Into The Outdoors" was produced in collaboration with the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) - Badger Chapter and the Wisconsin Counties Solid Waste Management Association (WCSWMA).

The video raises awareness of the solid waste industry in Wisconsin and focuses on managing waste materials; managing recyclables and the changing waste stream; emerging technologies and renewable fuel; and how to become a better steward of our world.

The City of Stevens Point is dedicated to reducing solid waste, including single-use plastics and other disposables, and promoting the re-use of items that would otherwise be added to landfills.
