Stevens Point Parks, Recreation, Forestry Dept. Update

The Stevens Point Parks, Recreation & Forestry Dept. is monitoring Covid-19 recommendations from the CDC and local, state, and federal health officials as we work to provide the community with places to recreate while complying with Emergency Order #28.

Updates for our Park System Operation

Closed and/or Cancelled Park Facilities & Events

  • All park playgrounds, swings, and play structures    
  • All park lodge rentals through May 26
  • All special events in parks
  • K.B. Willett Arena    
  • Riverfront Art Center    
  • Wisconsin Watercolor Society Show
  • Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department office
    • Reservations and registration available online beginning May 1
    • You can contact the office by calling 715-346-1531
    • A drop box is located at 2442 Sims Avenue for payments to be dropped off.

Open Park Facilities and Park Amenities

  • All parks, trails, and green spaces for walking, biking, hiking, and exercising (currently open)
  • Boat ramps, piers, and fishing piers at Bukolt and Pfiffner Parks (currently open)
  • Tennis Courts (Goerke and Mead Park - Open April 24, 2020)
  • Disc Golf Courses (Yulga, Mead, McDill - Open April 24, 2020)
  • Skatepark at Bukolt Park (Open April 24, 2020)
  • Goerke Community Stadium - Goerke Park Track (Open April 24)
  • Park Restrooms (open May 2, 2020)

Rules for Open Park Facilities

  • No congregating in groups    
  • Follow CDC guidelines
  • No organized group play    
  • Use hand sanitizer after touching surfaces
  • Don’t touch others’ equipment    
  • Wash hands immediately after returning home
  • Play should between members of same household

Crowded parks may lead to closed parks, please do your part to follow CDC guidelines.
