The Stevens Point Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department is happy to announce that we were selected to receive an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) from the St. Michael’s Foundation’s Cardiac Arrest Survival Team (CAST) Fund.
The Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department will use this new AED at Goerke Community Stadium for fall, spring, and summer athletic events, and will use it at the Iverson Winter Sports area during each winter season.
Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department, Dan Kremer, said, “We feel incredibly fortunate to have such a tremendous community partner in the St. Michael’s Foundation in Stevens Point! We believe having this AED in Goerke and Iverson Parks for our organized activities and athletics will further protect our valued visitors who frequent these facilities and better prepare our team to respond in case of an emergency. We can’t thank the St. Michael’s Foundation and their team enough for selecting us for this grant.”
St. Michael’s Foundation, Margo Willard, shared, “St. Michael’s Foundation has funded 15 AEDs throughout the community. Together, we work to improve the number of cardiac arrest survivors."
