The Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department Volunteer of the Year Award is for distinguished service to a Department cause, park, park space, program, or initiative that benefits the Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.
Nominees must have volunteered in the calendar year previous to the award selection. Examples are Boards and Commissions, Friends Groups, park adopters or caretakers, initiative volunteers (e.g., trail maintainers, flower bed/garden planters, etc.), or social service organizations that benefit the City of Stevens Point.
1. Nominees must be 16 years of age and older
2. The nominee must be engaged in a volunteer activity that benefits the City of Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department
3. Award selections are based on the nominee’s volunteer efforts and commitment of time, accomplishments and community impact.
4. Recipients of the awards are based on merit – without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, or physical/mental disability.
Award will be announced in June each year via social media and the City website. The winner will be presented the award on the mainstage at Riverfront Rendezvous Festival in Pfiffner Pioneer Park by the Mayor of Stevens Point.
Nomination forms are due by 11:30 am on Monday, May 3, 2021.
