Keely Fishler was elected by the City Council on December 16, 2019, to fill a vacancy left by previous Alderperson Mike Phillips. She was then elected as Alder of District 10 on April 5, 2020. She serves on the Public Policy and General Government Committee and the Administrative Appeals Board.
Keely has worked in the private sector for over 20 years, working in both telecommunications and more recently, with medical supplies. Her professional experience has allowed her to develop expertise with working with people from a variety of backgrounds, businesses, and personality types. She also focuses on working within budget constraints to solve problems and overcome challenges. She will use these skills to serve District 10 and work with the Mayor and other Alders to continue moving the City forward.
The reason Keely decided to run for Alderperson is rooted in her desire to serve her community and to see it thrive. She is committed building a strong community with a firm foundation that will weather any storms that the future may bring.
Stevens Point has been Keely'S home since 2016. Even though she didn’t grow up here, she considers it home and deeply appreciates the people, opportunities, and the wonderful businesses, parks, and activities unique to the area.
In her free time, Keely enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.
